The Kick-off Meeting of the project: SusTour “Joint e-Course on the Sustainable Management of Tourism Destinations” was organised with success by EURICON on Friday 9 & Saturday 10 of December 2022 at Teight Hotel, Mitropolitou Iosif 8 Str, in Thessaloniki. The meeting was organized in a hybrid way.
The project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme with action type: KA220-HED - Cooperation partnerships in higher education, has as main scope to develop a joint trans-disciplinary HE e-Course among HE faculties relative to sustainable tourism in order to improve the knowledge and skills of their students on issues concerning the sustainable design and management of sustainable tourism destinations. The partnership is consisted by 6 partners from Italy, Greece and Spain: University of Sapienza (IT) that is leading the partnership, EURICON EPE (GR), University of Granada (SP), Ionian University (GR), CNA – National Confederation of Crafts and Small and Medium Enterprises - Rome (IT) and Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife (SP).
On December 9th representatives of project’s partners discussed about project implementation methodology, its contractual, budgeting & financial aspects, management and dissemination aspects. In particular the meeting was attended by: Mr. Fernando Martinez de Carnero, Mr. Luca Reitano, Mrs. Sara Sampieri and Mr. Luca Alteri from the University of Sapienza, Mr. Vasilis Siomadis and Mrs. Eirini Sylleli from EURICON, Mr. Pablo Aparicio Durán from University of Granada, Mr. Themis Exarchos and Mr. Naoum Mylonas from Ionian University and Mr. Ilario Melis from CNA.
On December 10th lead partner presented the project to external stakeholders. In particular, the participated stakeholders were: Mrs. Notopoulou Member of the Hellenic Parliament responsible for the tourism affairs on behalf of the Opposition, Mr. Fotis Kilipiris Professor of the Department of Business Administration, Marketing and Tourism of the International Hellenic University, Mr. Vaggelis Kyriakou Tourism Manager of the Municipal Public Benefit Enterprise of Edessa City and Mrs. Evgenia Chasapidoy Director of Teight Hotel.
Stakeholders congratulated the whole partnership for the initiative to develop a Joint e-Course among 3 Higher Education Institutes from Italy, Spain, and Greece, on the Sustainable Management of Tourism Destinations and wished the successfully project completion.
The event was completed with a Culture Tour in the city of Thessaloniki for partners participated by physical presence.
